Oh, Manitou. More than a small town, indeed. You may know Manitou because of Nellie McClung, but there’s a lot more to see than just her homes. It was a successful first trip for me to Manitou!
From the beautiful homes to the beautiful parks, there is a lot to see and do. We went for a long walk enjoying the sights, and we waved to some really nice people who were also out and about. (Was it you?)
When you find a town who is proud of their history and proud of their accomplishments, there will always be lots to see. Check out the War Memorial, check out the school and the churches, as well as the painted fire hydrants throughout the town. (A small detail, but my wife enjoyed finding these three! Do you know where they are?)
If you go, let us know what your favourite part of the town is. For me, I have to be stereotypical and mention Nellie McClung. There are few people in our province who have done as much as she did. However, the nicest surprise was the bell. I love how it’s setup.
Manitou, you were a blast. Thank you for inviting us!
